DXD-RPosted by Zzzune Wed, April 08, 2009 00:25:53 Just wanted to remind you that we still have some copies of DXD-R 003 in stock. Don't hesitate, order your copy by sending a mail to: shop.dxdrecs@gmail.com.
We've been labeled as 'mash-up' dj's (whatever that is...) by the press and it seems to stick with us. I guess it makes sense, since our last compilation, DXD-R 002, was a wide collection of mashed-up tracks, but if you listen to the latest compilation it's pure house tunes, minimal and dubby techno. So just to straighten things out, here's a list of my favourite tracks at the moment, no particular order and no mash-ups here!:
Levon Vincent - Six Figures (Novel Sound) Omar S - Blown Valvetrane (Sound Signature) James Braun - Symphonia (Tartelet) Moody - Anotha Black Sunday (KDJ) Thomas Schumacher - 3 Note Jazz (Get Physical Music) (Mp3 / zShare) 2020 Soundsystem - Sliding Away (Johnny D Dub Mix) (2020 Vision) Tomas Barfod & Fredski - March On Swan Lake (Get Physical Music) dOP - Mambo Jumbo (Supplement Facts) When Saints Go Machine - Fail Forever (dOP Remix) (unreleased) dOP - Dopamen feat. Noze (Circus Company)
I'll let Stevie put you to sleep with this unofficial remix by Henrik Schwarz.

Our online store is now open for business. Just drop us a mail at: shop.dxdrecs@gmail.com and we'll give you the details on how to pay, shipping, etc. If you already own a copy of our last compilation you know we keep our prices modest so don't hesitate to buy your girlfriend a copy too!
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Thu, February 26, 2009 14:09:08 DXD-R 003 is out and can be purchased at Kihoskh on Vesterbro and This Issue on Nørrebro. Info on more shops and online sales will follow shortly. Listen to some snippets from the compilation here.
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Tue, February 10, 2009 15:29:02 Finally, it's here: DXD-R 003 - the follow-up to the 2007 DXD-R 002, which mapped out the Nørrebro DIY part of the Copenhagen underground. This time we take it to the next level with the participation of artists from Iceland, Argentina, France and Denmark of course. The 003 features tracks from MHM One, The Shermann, dOP/James Braun, Old Man, Det Sejler I Effekter, Leópold Kristjánsson II amongst others. To celebrate, we're throwing a release party this Friday at Dunkel, Copenhagen V where a few of the acts involved will be dj'ing.
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Fri, January 09, 2009 01:26:14 Not sure if we have any readers in 'Das Ruhrgebiet' but this Saturday I'm playing the new club Mikatronic in Essen. Drop by if you're around!
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Sun, December 21, 2008 14:25:15 Christmas slowly crept up on us and dragged our bloody corpses back into it's dark cave, before completely devouring us... No, we have no real excuse for being absent, but I will try to make it up to you. Since I haven't posted anything for a while, the mentioning of the release of my record slipped, but now you know: it came out this week and can be purchased at various sites - only on vinyl so far. It has been received really well so I hope you'll like it. Check a couple of tracks on myspace. Since there'll be no free tracks from this release, I'm throwing in 5 original tracks as a blast from the past - a live show I played at Stengade 30 back in 2003. It contains a few gems and some suppressed memories as well, but we all get better over time.. Enjoy, and a merry christmas to you all!
We are planning to licence our next DXD-R compilation under Creative Commons and would like to hear from any of you that might have some kind of experience using, or releasing music, under the Creative Commons. Please drop us a line if you can help.
Over at Berlin Battery they have an interesting (and scary) post on licence issues concerning the fact that google, who owns blogger.com, is deleting blog posts with no obvious reason. The debate continues at Palms Out Sounds.
And just to lighten things up a bit; here's a track from one of our new favourite producers, Magnus, who have submitted a track for the upcoming compilation. Remember the deadline is December 10. so don't hesitate to send us your tracks!
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Sun, October 19, 2008 20:59:27 Some love teaching pilates - we love making compilations. So, just in case it slipped your attention, we're doing another DXD-R compilation. MP3's and suggestions can be sent to dxdrecs@gmail.com. We'll be sure to listen to everything as fast as possible, but it might take us a while to get back to you, since there's a lot of planning and picking etc. 100% certified DIY.
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Wed, October 15, 2008 19:49:07 The hunt is on! We've begun compiling our third DXD-R compilation and we're looking for more tracks. This time we're focusing on house, techno and more experimental stuff. If you have the next big thing for us, please send your track(s) to dxdrecs@gmail.com.
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Mon, September 08, 2008 19:35:55 You shouln't really be paying attention to the above image and it's idealistic bull. Nothing on this blog is neither that organized or published with any projective whatsoever... On the other hand, we would like to hear more from you. It seems a lot of you readers make music yourselves, and if you believe it to be of relevance to other readers of this blog, please let us know on e-mail or at our myspace. Some guidelines:
As you probably know we're not that into electro and mash ups anymore, so only original work please. Other than that, we pretty much like techno, house, dubstep, electronica, weirdo, whatever... If your music finds it's way into the very bottom of hearts and it hasn't previously been published, we might even suggest to you that we put it on our next DXD-R compilation, which we are planning at the moment. Mixtapes are always welcome aswell.
So please don't hesitate to throw something at us and if it doesn't show up right away, that doesn't mean we don't like it or that we won't like to hear more from you. We might save it for later or maybe we're just gone in an opium haze...
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Tue, August 12, 2008 22:45:23 This Friday I'm playing a live set with Supertroels at KlubKlub, Stengade 30. It's part of the Strøm Festival which will be all over town this week. I hope you'll come and check it out, even though I must admit I'm a bit anxious about a live gig. It will be a mix of both Supertroels' and my tracks, and I will play all the tracks from my upcoming release on Tartelet Records for the first time. You'll also get a chance to see Olof Drejer from The Knife and Håkan Lidbo on the decks. We go on at 00h45, so don't be late.
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Wed, August 06, 2008 16:25:57 On July 29th, this blog in it's current form, turned one year old unnoticed. Statistics show we've been getting more and more readers, with a record of 35,000 hits in April this year and as much as 2500 unique visitors in June, with an average of around 800 hits a day. We hope we can keep doing a good job to satisfy all of you and thanks for dropping by.
This Friday I'm playing Who's The Pussy Now at Train in Århus C. I go on at 3 if you wanna come by.
And now check out 2562 - a Dutch artist, sounding like dubstep combined with Basic Channel . . It's excellent and I really think he's doing dubstep a great favour, bringing the dub to the step. He's playing at Culture Box on the 6th of September - don't miss it. Check his myspace for more dates outside Denmark.
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Wed, June 11, 2008 23:01:53 Since I'm focusing at my own stuff at the moment (info on a release soon), I won't be doing to much work for others. Therefore, I have made this collection of remixes, bootlegs and b-sides as a free download. Enjoy.
DXD-RPosted by James Braun Thu, May 22, 2008 13:10:27 I'm coming to Herning and Horsens with the boys from Turboweekend. There will probably be an after party at Kulisselageret in Horsens, so if you're around, drop by.
