'Berlin Calling' is a new, German feature film by Hannes Stöhr, starring Paul Kalkbrenner. It evolves around the fictional character DJ Ickarus (Kalkbrenner) who is touring the world with his manager and girlfriend. They are about to release his biggest album to date, when Ickarus starts a downward spiral, ending up in the emergency ward of a psychiatric clinic high on drugs after a gig.
"BERLIN CALLING is no biopic. The film draws a ficticious portrait of a
musician in today´s Berlin. It is about art and insanity, inebriation
and ecstasy , hope and future , friendship and family , music and the
joy to live and of course about love." -Hannes Stöhr

"Zeitgeist is originally a German expression that means "the spirit of the age", literally translated as "time (Zeit) spirit (Geist)". It describes the intellectual and cultural climate of an era.
In German, the word has more layers of meaning than the English
translation, including the fact that Zeitgeist can only be observed for
past events." -From wikipedia
Zeitgeist is also a movie filled with conspiracy theories about Christianity, 9/11 and the US federal bank. It implies a plot of the US and other governments, to create a New World Order with only one powerful leader. It states a lot of interesting and frightening facts but you have to question it's credibility. Anyway, it's entertaining.
I just saw this really good movie about British suburbia in the 80's, seen from the perspective of a 12 year old, trying to make friends and stand out from the crowd. A long the way come skinheads and mods set in scene in a working class concrete hell. The film is made by Shane Meadows mainly doing social realism like this one, and the film 'This Is England' is out on Warp Films. You can probably find it over at tv-links.co.uk (hint hint), but you should definitely go see it!
